Health One Global sells HEALTHone Electronic Patient Record Platform rights to Med-e-Mass for South Africa
On May 23, Health One Global Ltd sold the IP and commercial rights of the HEALTHone EHR
software as well as its share in the South African business to Med-e-Mass, South Africa’s leading
provider of Practice Management Applications.
The HEALTHone Electronic Patient Record Software was introduced to the South African
Market in 2005 through a local subsidiary of Health One Global Ltd. It has rapidly won users in
General and Specialised practices. The product has been customised to meet the local needs ofOccupational Health, Anti-Retroviral Treatment, Voluntary Counselling Testing and Injuries on
Duty. The local Health One team has offered each customer a unique customisation to ensure
the move from Paper Based Systems is as seamless as possible for the user.
With a national footprint of 5 regional offices, a national call centre and a wide network of
dealers, Med-e-Mass is ideally positioned to support and add value to existing as well as
new HEALTHone users. “HEALTHone has been integrated into all the Med-e-Mass practice
Management Applications to ensure easy adoption of electronic patient records providing
customers with clinical detail that is flexible, portable, confidential and secure,” says Dilip Naran,
